No occasion is complete without popping champagne, a classic symbol of celebration and style is an art in itself. We witness a slew of brands extensively intricate when it comes to Champagne making, one of it is Perrier-Jouet. Quite recently Perrier-Jouet has celebrated 200 years of association with the Bi-Centenaire Champagne a clear indicator of its expertise and craftsmanship. Committed to provide champagne connoisseurs a one of its kind champagne experience Perrier-Jouet yet again introduces a one of its kind sparkle; ‘The Enchanting Tree’. With the advent of spring, the first days of celebration, Perrier-Jouet decided to enhance the spirit with an unusually elegant champagne experience created by Dutch designer Tord Boontje.
The all new ‘Enchanting tree’ is interlaced with elements of of theatre and poetry to the gesture of tasting Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Epoque cuvee; a practice in sync with Perrier-Jouët’s tradition of supporting and collaborating with artists and designers as part of its artistic heritage.
‘The Enchanting Tree’ earned itself a grand debut at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery, London, on 22nd March’ 2013. A dedicated space was transformed and designed by Tord Boontje, which traversed one into a magical world of seasonal delight; whilst a platter of seasonal foods beautifully paired with the Belle Epoque cuvee. The guests at the event were spell bound as they moved from a wintery scene to a springtime fairy tale and mingles in front of a remarkable large scale version of The Enchanting Tree. A hand-made, impeccable illustration of Perrier-Jouet craftsmanship, ‘The Enchanting Tree’ will return to Epernay to be a part of Perrier-Jouët craftsmanship. It will return to Epernay to be part of the house’s private collection of 200 original Art Nouveau pieces of Art.
The Enchanting Tree by Perrier- Jouët reinvents the gesture of champagne in which each participant plucks a flute from the tree. Wreathed in anemones this unique champagne service is made of suspended golden branches that can be used to hang the six Perrier-Jouët flutes, blossoming at the base of an ice bucket to preserve the champagne’s coolness.
The iconic flutes of Perrier-Jouët can then be filled whilst in the tree, elegantly lifted out and served. This elegant service accessory showcases the champagne moment as a memorable experience. The idea was to create a functional object that evokes emotions and dreams, so the display is where beauty becomes utility and utility is the beauty. Perrier-Jouet also has given Champagne lovers the Belle Epoque Florale edition whose designer was Makoto Azuma.
